Adam Hjorthén
"I am Senior Lecturer in North American Studies at Uppsala University and hold a PhD in history from Stockholm University. My research has mainly concerned the 20th and 21st century history of Swedish-American relations, with a particular focus on cultural heritage and cultural memory.
"I have had the pleasure of doing research at the SSIRC many times during the last decade. The SSIRC is an internationally unique institution, and a prime resource for scholars and students. It has an outstanding significance for the field of Swedish-American history and relations – as an archive and library, but also through its role as promoter of new scholarship – and I am excited to get to contribute to the Center's work as a new member of the advisory committee." Adam joined the Swenson Center's advisory committee this year.
