The only journal devoted to Swedish American biography, genealogy, and personal history.
Swedish American Genealogist is a journal published in English and contains a column for subscribers' genealogical queries. It is a useful publication for anyone doing Swedish-American and Swedish genealogical research.
The journal was established in 1981 by Dr. Nils William Olsson, a leading immigration historian, and was edited by him until 1998.
SAG is available in either print or digital format and is a benefit for all Swenson Center members.
Vol. 42 No. 1 (2022) was mailed the week of Nov. 7, 2022
Vol. 42 No. 2 (2022) was mailed to members May 10, 2023
Vol. 43 No. 1 (2023) was mailed the last week of July 2023
Interested in submitting your article or book review to SAG?
SAG welcomes submissions that:
Expound upon any Swedish immigrant who settled in North America
Present the genealogical research of an ancestor or family in Sweden
Cover any time period of American or Swedish history
Have not been published elsewhere or have been submitted to another journal
Digitized back issues are available online, for free (excluding the most recent 4 years).
