November Newsletter

Dear friends,

It's finally autumn in Rock Island—arguably the most beautiful time of year at Augustana College. As I write this, the maple trees outside my office are dropping their leaves and the students are starting to break out their jackets and scarves.

We took part in two exciting events this past month. First, the annual Quad Cities Archives Fair helped over 70 attendees discover the fascinating local history right in their back yards. The second was the ever-popular SAG Workshop. While virtual again this year, the workshop helped over 40 attendees research their family history with assistance from expert staff in the U.S. and Sweden. Learn how you can participate next year.

The holiday season is right around the corner! Be sure to register for our traditional Julbord dinner serving up your favorite Swedish-American smörgåsbord fare on Monday, November 29 just before the annual Augustana College Sankta Lucia program. We also have a God Jul Hemslöjd class this weekend (register now!) and a holiday-themed book club meeting in December. Get into the spirit throughout December with our annual virtual advent calendar.
