Get a Swenson Center library card! The Swenson Center has a special Lending Collection of popular English-language Nordic books and DVDs for local patrons to check out. The Swenson Center is not part of the local public library system, but we do allow local patrons to borrow materials from our Lending Collection. Stop by the Center with the following items and receive a Swenson Center library card:
Current picture ID (e.g., driver's license)
Verification of address (e.g., recent letter or bill)
Unexpired library card from one of the following counties: Rock Island, Whiteside, or Henry (Illinois), OR a high school photo ID OR tell us you are a member of the Swenson Center (we will verify your membership)
In addition to borrowing privileges at the Swenson Center, you will also be able to use the Augustana College Tredway Library as a public patron.
We will then enter your information in the library system. You will not be issued a physical library card, but instead just bring a Photo ID with you when you wish to use the library. You may apply for a public patron library card at either the Swenson Center or the Tredway Library. Applicants must be at least 13 years of age. These cards are for personal use only. Each member of a family who wishes to check out should apply for their own card. See Library Lending Policy for more details.
Thank you to the ASA, which graciously granted us funds to purchase items for the Lending Collection.
